Seniors Speak

Coming May 2026!

A panel of graduating seniors will share their Redwood experiences and insights, including AP classes, sports teams, SATs, as well as their plans for the future. This general meeting is always a favorite, and is open to all parents and caregivers. There will be time for Q&A, so parents with questions about what to expect and what their student may anticipate won't want to miss this General Meeting.

The Redwood PTSA Parent Education team also partners with our school principal, Barnaby Payne to participate in regular Principal Chats. These events are offered both in person and on Zoom. For more information on an upcoming chat, visit the school calendar.

Redwood 102: A Deep Dive into Acadaemic, College & Career Planning

As a follow up to Redwood 101 (Intro to Redwood Essentials), listen to Katie Paulsen with the Redwood Counseling Department and Becky Bjursten from the College and Career Center as they detail the services they provide and answer key questions. This recording will allow you to gain insights and resources to support your student in course selection, college planning, jobs, internships, and summer programs.

Some key questions that were answered during the session include:

How can I help my student select courses available to them for next year?
Can my student take courses outside of Redwood?
What support do you provide in the college application process?
How can my student find jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities?

This presentation is applicable to all grade levels.

Redwood 101

Led by Principal Payne, the presentation features staff representatives from various Redwood departments, Student Body President Madison Bishop, and highlights from the Redwood PTSA and Foundation. An "Intro to Redwood Essentials", Principal Payne introduces staff and administrators who identify their roles and resources that help support students. Featured departments include Administration, Athletics, Arts, Attendance, Counseling, College & Career Center, and the Wellness Center. Principal Payne starts the presentation at 1:30 into the recording.

PTSA has assembled a panel of speakers who will provide an overview of various summertime options for teens including employment opportunities, internships, service opportunities, and other enrichment opportunities and resources. We'll hear from Becky Bjursten from RHS College and Career Center, representatives from local organizations looking for volunteers, and employers interested in hiring teens this summer.

Your Teen’s Journey to Adulthood: College Readiness & Legal Considerations

This Parent Education program will explicate numerous strategies and tacticsparents can implement now, that will equip their students to be the minority who remain stable, focused, healthy and on track to earn their degree in 4 years.Some of these actions are incredibly easy to implement, others are more long term so the sooner you start the better!
